The world premiere of the documentary series CRUYFF will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026. On this special evening, we’ll pay a grand tribute to Johan Cruyff at the Johan Cruyff ArenA.

The premiere will be held at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, an iconic venue that perfectly embodies everything Johan Cruyff stood for.

Get ready for a truly unique and emotional experience filled with football, inspiration, and unforgettable moments. Together with more than 50,000 fans, you’ll take part in a spectacular tribute to the man who changed the game forever.

During the evening, two episodes of the CRUYFF documentary series will be screened. The series is produced by Lusus Media in collaboration with Oscar-winning producer James Gay-Rees (Amy, Senna). Each episode runs for approximately 45 minutes and features never-before-seen footage, exclusive audio recordings in which Cruyff tells his own life story, and special interviews with those who knew him best.

The screenings will be preceded by a special pre-show celebrating Johan Cruyff’s legacy, his vision, his understanding of the game, and the way he transformed football forever.

The documentary is multilingual (Dutch, Spanish, and English) and will be fully subtitled in Dutch during the premiere.

The four-part CRUYFF series will be broadcast by NTR after the premiere.

The episodes of the documentary series are shown on multiple double-sided screens in the stadium, so that everyone, no matter where they are seated, has a clear view. The image below gives an impression of what this looks like.
